11/23/09 Expect more cut backs on the schedule. All of this for just a two year pay deal?
11/16/09 FCC recruiting new train drivers, but won't finish training till the spring. The Great Northern route is running close to normal.
Per First Capital Connect:-Thameslink railway route cancellations on Thursday 12 November and Friday 13 November. It is probable that up to 50% of the trains scheduled to run on the Thameslink route on Thursday and Friday will be cancelled due to a shortage of available drivers. "We are in ongoing pay talks with the drivers’ union, ASLEF. Season ticket holders pass will be valid on FCC's Great Northern route" per FCC, not only that, they don't see a clear end to the dispute. Delays, disruptions could go on next week. Dumb idea to run a business counting on it to run with overtime. How expensive is that? Now we all suffer because of bad management. How much do these drivers make?
7, November, 09 Not enough volunteer drivers tomorrow to run the entire network of Great Northern, all trains cancelled between King's Cross, Stevenage, Cambridge and King's Lynn! (This is not a strike... Everyone want's to be home for Sunday dinner.) Aslef union has rejected the last two pay offers. Here's what FCChas to say.
