Greek general strike is planned for this Thursday 8 December, 2016.
Strike will involve public and private workers.
Air traffic control so far have not announced any strike action.

15 May 2016 Flights from and to Athens Airport will likely be delayed, cancelled or brought forward due to French air traffic control strike. Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Paris Orly and Charles de Gaulle.
French air traffic controllers will strike on Thursday May 19, 2016. (and perhaps 26 May?) If strike goes ahead airlines will be asked to cut back flights to and from France. Stay in close contact with your airline. Air France will take brunt of strike action. French national rail company SNCF is also striking.
French taxi drivers are threatening to join in.
If you are changing flights in France and have a long lay over in a French international arrivals lounge. Get a French visa as you will be sleeping on a cot in the lounge while other passengers sleep in a comfortable hotel bed with private bathroom. March 2016 saw 140 passengers sleeping on the floor at Orly Airport.

You will be flying into a Greek dockers strike this week, again.
Greek dock workers, union OMYLE, this will include dock workers from Piraeus. Strike will start Tuesday, 16 February, 2016 and last for 48 hours. Another difficult time for passengers getting to and from the islands catching flight from Athens International.

Update:-5 August 2015 Athens airport in the space of four hours saw 22 flights cancelled and 173 re-scheduled. Leaving Cyprus was just as bad 16 flights were cancelled between Paphos and Larnaca airport.
