Unions must give seven days notice of strike action to employers.
Impact, voted not to join in the strike on 30 March, 2009. Largest public sector union and services trade union. 62,000 members, work in public service occupations, grades and professions in healthcare, local government, civil service, voluntary and community organizations.,private aviation and telecommunications companies.
Even though employees voted not to strike, the vote does not necessarily mean that Impact members would not take part in strike!
Although 65% of those balloted voted in favour of taking part, under IMPACT's rule 66% support is needed to strike. Union management are now reviewing this system! Would you be annoyed if you were a member who voted not to strike?
