Virgin America plans to offer in-flight Wi-Fi Internet. Testing for one week on an Airbus A320. If this works out expect it one its 24 other planes by mid 09. Joining American Airlines as the only carriers in the world to offer full Internet access. Passengers can browse the web, use email, IM, and connect to secure networks through three wireless access points on the plane. Voice calls over the Internet are not allowed. The cost is $9.95 to $12.95 a flight, depending on route length.

Virgin America plans to launch service at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport this November. Will be competition for AA and United. O'Hare will be opening a new runway. Virgin plans to offer four daily flights apiece, to San Francisco and Los Angeles from Chicago. CEO is David Cush who spent 22 years at AA. New aircraft, ethernet plugs, entertainment system that lets passengers order food and drinks by touching TV screens.
